A Day in Naples: Third Street South Farmer’s Market, Naples Pier, and Barbatella’s

A Day in Naples: Third Street South Farmer’s Market, Naples Pier, and Barbatella’s

Whether you’re a longtime Naples’ resident or a first-time visitor, we’ve crafted the perfect itinerary for a Saturday afternoon. Grab your sun hat and let’s immerse ourselves into a day filled with sunshine, sea breezes, and sweet indulgences.

First Stop: Third Street South Farmer’s Market

Kickstart your morning at the Third Street South Farmer’s Market that is held every Saturday from 7:30am-11:30am. Local vendors proudly display their goods, from colorful bouquets of flowers to organic produce straight from nearby farms. This market offers everything from freshly baked pastries and pasta to seafood and artisanal jams. With live music, treats for your furry friends, and a warm community atmosphere, this market is a joy for all ages. Take your time strolling through the stalls, engaging with friendly vendors, and sampling delicious food items! We recommend Sandra Sweet & Savory for some homemade Key Lime pie or Straight from New York Bagels for traditional fresh baked bagels and sandwiches.

Next Stop: The Beach at Naples Pier

Now that you have stocked up on some goodies at the farmer’s market, just a couple blocks away is the Naples Pier. Take a leisurely stroll down the streets lined with palm trees and you will make your way to the soft white sand. Whether you’re in the mood for a game of beach volleyball, a refreshing dip in the water, or simply lounging back to the sounds of the waves crashing, there’s no wrong way to unwind at this picturesque spot! Although the Naples Pier is currently under construction after the damage from Hurricane Ian, it is set to be rebuilt by late 2025.

Time for a Sweet Treat: Gelato at Barbatella

After working up an appetite, head over to Barbatella’s Gelato shop for a late-afternoon snack.  Located in the heart of downtown Naples on Third Street South, this gelateria serves an amazing array of flavors from classic favorites like pistachio and Stracciatella to more adventurous options like blood orange and tiramisu. Treat yourself to a cone or cup of your favorite flavor. We opted for the Stracciatella and the chocolate, and it was one of the best decisions of the day!
